What's the matter?
„Synergy Symphony“ addresses the social barriers between strangers, exploring how distance and silence can lead to isolation. The project encourages connection by transforming visitors’ movements into animated art, breaking down these boundaries. Created during my time at the University of the Arts London, the interactive installation uses color tracking to project movements onto a wall, inviting strangers to interact and become part of a shared experience. It reflects on the power of human connection and overcoming isolation in a world full of impressions and people.
When the Magic
Happens
At the core of this installation lies the transformative power of movement and color. Using p5.js, the project captures real-time motion through color tracking, with a ceiling-mounted webcam tracking the movement of visitors by focusing on the colors (specifically, X marks on their shoes). As visitors move, their actions are transformed into fluid, ever-changing animations that are projected onto a wall. The more they experiment, the more they realize how their presence shapes the projections, turning the installation into a living piece of art. This seamless blend of technology and social interaction encourages connection and engagement, inviting people to break down the walls between them and experience the magic of shared movement.
